  • 2018 California Arbor Week Grants Program

    California ReLeaf is pleased to announce that $20,000 in pass-through funding was awarded to 11 organizations for the 2018 California Arbor Week to celebrate the value of trees for all Californians. This program was generously funded by Pacific Gas & Electric. These funds will provide 40 California Arbor Week Events, plant 400 trees, care for 500 trees, and engage with 2,000 students in 85 schools.   California ReLeaf and Tree Davis kicked off the first event in West Sacramento on March 7th.       In 2016, California ReLeaf updated our Arbor Week and elementary and middle school educational activities so as to better align with Common Core Standards and give students an even more hands-on science and learning experience. Meet the two women behind the updated lesson plans: Susan Tapper and Shannon Hardwicke.     Susan Tapper begin her educational career as a kinder teacher in the public school system.
