cedar - Kathleen webDuring Arbor Week, I was able to take a tour of the beautiful park surrounding California’s State Capitol. The tour was led by the Sacramento Tree Foundation. This park is a beautiful showcase of trees from around the world.

The deodar cedar is among my favorites in Capitol Park. There are a few of these majestic trees that were planted in the 1870s when the park was established.

Today alone, these trees were benefiting dozens of Californians as state workers and school children relaxed in their shade. Over the past 140+ years, how many people have been graced by these deodar cedars?
